Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino betting is banned. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect location, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are ways around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features numerous comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
